The Outsiders

The book and the movie have many similarities and some differences. For the similarities the movie stayed some what true to the book, they still show that the reason why a Soc was killed was because pony wanted to run away from Darry and Soda since he was hit. This was an important scene since this scene caused the rest of the book to happen. They also don't change the ending like how other movie adaptations do, they still killed Johnny and Dally which was also important since Pony loved them since they were all greasers.

The movie isn't a hundred percent like the book. A scene was changed, it was when Pony and Cherry are both in line for snacks, Pony in the book tells Cherry the whole story on how Johnny was jumped and went into detail but in the movie he just said Johnny was jumped and said some details but didn't tell the story. We also find out how Pony’s parents died since he had a nightmare about it in the movie but in the book all we know is that his parents were killed in an automobile crash.

The acting for the movie wasn't really that good but since it was an older movie I'd let it slide. But for the characters they found some people who somewhat looked like how the character was supposed to look, and they also acted how the characters looked on screen. One thing that was changed though was that Dally’s hair color in dark brown almost black but in the book it was described as almost white but blonde hair. Other than that I think the other characters were portrayed by good actors.
